March 3rd 2001 Freedom Rally
Page One - Assembly at The Fort

This was an emotional moment for me and others involved in organizing the Rally. We had had worked for weeks, planning and organizing but when I left home at around 7:30am on he morning of the rally it was raining. I rode to the Fort getting more depressed as I got closer thinking that after all the work and frustration that had gone into it we would be lucky if 100 riders showed up. Boy! was I wrong and a bit ashamed at not having more faith in the riders who promised to show.

I arrived at the Fort to find around 30-40 riders already there and over the next hour or so they just kept on coming. By 9:30 there were more than 300 bikes and riders assembled in the rain. That's when the rain stopped and the day turned bright and sunny.
